When I was in Poland, I watched American movies about Thanksgiving. This Holiday looked to me kind of like our Christmas Eve in Poland but without Christmas gifts…lol  Everyone loves this Holiday in America. Thanksgiving is the time when families get together, they cook and eat a lot, laugh, play games and have lots of fun. This is the ONLY day of the year when almost all stores and restaurants are closed!!! Yes, there is a crazy Black Friday next day, so this is the calm time before the “hurricane” next day…lol<\/p>\n

Since I moved to USA I celebrate Friendsgiving because me and my husband don’t have a very close family here. There is always so many things to be thankful for: family, friends, health, wealth, career, etc. Thanksgiving is the time for reflection in order to realize what small things we can be thankful for and how wonderful, precious our life is. <\/p>\n

Few years ago I went to visit the place of the “first Thanksgiving” in American History – Plymouth, MA. I was still single at that time…lol, so I think I will return to this cozy, little town again with Robert. I spent two wonderful days there. Plymouth, MA is close to Boston (<1hr drive), so you can extend your trip a little bit more and visit Boston also. Plymouth has many things to offer like whale watching, shopping, dining and many historical places to visit. Back in November 1621, the newly arrived Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians gathered at Plymouth for an autumn harvest celebration, an event regarded as America’s \u201cfirst Thanksgiving” \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

First day, I saw Plymouth Rock, which is an universal symbol of America. It is located in Pilgrim Memorial State Park. This rock is an American icon and tangible monument to freedom. Plymouth Rock is inscribed with 1620. This is the year of the Pilgrims landing in the Mayflower. Mayflower  is the English ship that transported English families to the New World in 1620. You can buy tickets to see the Mayflower II when visiting the Plymouth Rock. This is a full scale reproduction of the original Mayflower. After that I went for a walk around the town. Visited cozy, charming cafeterias, restaurants and little stores.  It’s worth it!<\/p>\n

Second day I spent in 17th Century English village. What a cool experience!!! Strongly recommend to spend some time exploring this place \ud83d\ude42 If you talk to one of the people in historic clothes, they will talk to you like is the 17-th Century…lol They will give you some things to do since they always “need help” with something, like for example to pound corn. When exploring the village, you can see how those people used to work, live, play, learn, cook etc. and you can be a part of it. That’s the best out of all!!! <\/p>\n
